About Ben

I am first a Christ-follower, second a husband and father, and third a Pastor. I enjoy my family more than anything in this world and I would trade them for nothing. I am married to my best friend, Brenda, and her friendship is one thing that really keeps me going. I have three children, Mackenzie 8, Cadence 6, and my son Gracen who is almost 2 and is keeping us all busy!

I love sports, especially college basketball. I am an insane University of Kentucky fan, and I still believe my yelling at the TV during important parts of any game can be heard by the coaches. I am also an admitted reality TV junkie. I watch Survivor, Big Brother, Man vs. Wild, and anything else that allows me to see people when all the luxuries of life are stripped away. This is due to my love of counseling people. I love to counsel, and watching these shows actually teaches me new ways to handle people. Weird I know, but still true. I also love LOST, Heroes, and one of my new favs is Lie To Me.

I also love to read. I love to read things that challenge me spiritually, emotionally, and intellectually. Music is another passion of mine, and my taste is very diverse. It ranges from My favorite, Dave Matthews Band, to others like Jeremy Riddle, Stevie Wonder, Anberlin, David Crowder, U2, and of course Ray Charles!

As far as my education goes, I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Theology(2004), a Master of Arts in Christian Counseling Psychology (2006), and recently earned a Doctorate of Ministry (Emphasis in Clinical Counseling – 2009) from Southwestern Seminary. Yes it was difficult to work and go to school full time, but it is an accomplishment I will treasure. Many people have asked me the hardest part and it was by far the Dissertation for my doctorate. It took 8 months of reading and research, but in the end it was worth it.

After re-planting a church in Tallahassee, Fl and leading it through a merge with, my current path has me planting a brand new church in Panama City Beach, Fl. Baypointe Church will be opening its doors in April of 2010. From now until then I will be trying to gather the launch team and am open to speak or train at local churches. You may contact me at God has big plans for our church and we are excited to see it unfold. Keep connected here to follow all our progress.

Ben, I am so proud of you and what you have accomplished with your life. Your Aunt Laverne told me about your new church and how new and exciting things are happening there. You are a great speaker; but then, you have a great Subject to talk about, don’t you?? I know your Dad is so proud, too, of not only you but your whole family and where the Lord has taken you.
    God Bless You, Ben.
    Love you,
