Sunday Rewound

November 24, 2008

dscf0119So it is late on Sunday night and I have been thinking today about how great it is to be a part of and its current place in history. Yes, we have endured some junk in the past few months that no church should have to go through, but we have a great plan in front of us regardless of what is in our past!

Sunday we kicked off the new series “Carnival,” which is all about keeping a God-centered family in this crazy Carnival world we live in. Here’s some highlights!

·      The morning started off really bad due to a sound system that went crazy. How is it we can be fine one Sunday and then when we comeback everything goes crazy! How is that possible? The band was patient, the media team scrambled, and we got things to operate the best we could. We still have some work to do, and we might have to call in a specialist! That’s you Steve V! Help!

·      God’s still amazes me. Seriously. Looking around at what God is doing in the lives of the people in our church is simply amazing. We are a bunch of young people trying to navigate our journey of faith, and God keeps directing us.

·      The band had every reason to be frustrated and just go through the motions, but they once again fought through, and led us to a place of worship.

·      Ryan Lavalle sang a part of one of the songs this week and did a tremendous job. He was one of the guys that was baptized last week. He has been in the band for a while and watching him continually grow is a honor to watch.

·      I kicked off the series Carnival with a live teaching today. I love speaking, and especially to these people I love so much.

·      Next week Pastor Brian will be speaking, and then the following two weeks Pastor Phil will be teaching. 3 Pastors in 4 weeks! It’s a Genesischurch Pastor buffet!

I hope everyone has a tremendous Turkey day. Enjoy the time with your friends and family and be safe!

It was really great getting to hear your speak. Especially live. It has been a really long time since I have been able to hear you since we have had to miss several Wednesday nites.

It is a great honor having you as our Pastor and being on your leadership team. Having you and your family has really made me grow closer to God and have a better relationship with him and I thank you very much for that.

I appreciate all your prayers for all the things that are going on in my life right now and I couldn’t get through it without all of your love and support.

You are trucly a man of God and I am so glad that God has placed you and your family in Tallahassee. Keep doing what you are doing and everything else will just fall into place.

    Pastor Ben Liles…..You Rock!!

    Pastor Ben,

Ready, willing and able to serve! Let’s get together and set a time after these days of Thanksgiving and we will get that sound system “humming”. I need to do a wireless device inventory anyway.
